If your machine can run it smoothly, and your particular wheel of choice delivers force feedback as it should, then you can enjoy this very first iteration of Assetto Corsa EVO.
But, just as a testing platform – as the driving academy, special events, car customisation and economy remain… unavailable.
Why is well documented at this point: the game cannot connect to its servers, and it must be ‘online connected’ in order to access the aforementioned features.
A second hotfix for the nascent title has been issued today, 17th January 2025, but it doesn’t fix this issue.
“Version 0.1.2 of Assetto Corsa EVO is now live. This includes two key fixes:
- fixed black screen issue showing only minimal UI on some systems
- fixed potentially becoming stuck on the UI in locations such as the car setup menu
- other minor fixes”
This is the official statement to the community from developer Kunos Simulazioni and publisher 505 Games.
Welcome, but not the big-ticket fix many were hoping for.
Speaking of which, the statement goes on to say:
“Resolving server issues to enable full online mode for all is currently in active development as a priority. This current version is set to remain in offline mode for all players, with all cars and tracks available.
“Thank you for your patience.”
A current workaround allows players to test all 20 cars (even the spruced-up versions for some) in this build, but the reality is only six should be selectable in this fashion before the currency, licences and XP kick in.
There’s no estimated arrival time – with development ‘hot’ and two hotfixes already published in under 24 hours, the hope is sooner rather than later…
