While Assetto Corsa EVO has a mix of road and race cars, GT3-spec models are curiously absent.
GT2 models, and tracks such as Brands Hatch and the Red Bull Ring, also seen in studio Kunos Simulazioni prior simulation Assetto Corsa Competizione, have made it across to EVO.
But GT3 machinery? Not yet.
However, in an Italian interview with Multiplayer.it, Co-Founder and Executive Manager Marco Massarutto has unveiled that the next update, 0.3, will include the first of its kind.

“The 0.3 update will also include the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, the new BMW M4 GT3 Evo, which will be presented during the Spa weekend,” said Massarutto to the gaming outlet, localised to English by Traxion.
There’s quite a bit to unpack there. Firstly, the GT3 and competitive racing scene that ACC served so well has mainly stayed on Competizione, but now confirmation of the BMW shows the first signs of a plan to accommodate this community within EVO.
Secondly, this is the newer Evo specification of M4, most noticeably different front and rear lights, which is a small step forward over the version currently in Competizione.
Thirdly, Kunos has a long-standing relationship with the Spa 24 Hour race organiser, SRO, and is usually present at the race. This year, it runs between 28th and 29th June, with the M4 GT3 Evo in competition. We presume the presentation reference (in the quote) could be that the car coming to the game is to be announced or displayed at Spa. Traxion has asked for further clarification.

Spa, meanwhile, has long since been confirmed for the Early Access title, but this helps provide a release window.
Either way, EVO players won’t have to wait long for the first GT3 addition, which Massarutto explains should release “within the next month” and that it will feature an initial online multiplayer test, before more significant multiplayer features arrive in 0.4.
Classic Renault and Caterham race car also confirmed
Massaruto also discussed that one of the future road cars for EVO will be the Renault 5 GT Turbo – a rapid (for the time) 1980s front-wheel drive hot hatch that paved the way for later Renault Sport vehicles.
An ‘Academy’ race version of the Caterham Seven is also discussed, with a theory that it could be one of the most popular cars to race online.

EVO recently changed its expected roadmap, with the project currently “assessing” whether or not a fall launch for Version 1.0 is realistic or not.
