Antonin Titus takes Le Mans Virtual Series All-Star victory

While Qualifying was the main event on Friday (13th January) regarding the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual, a first ever mixed-class qualifying plus the all-new Hyperpole session to set the field for Saturday’s festivities, an All-Star race with some well-known drivers took place in between those qualifying sessions.

Utilizing rFactor 2’s Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 992, the All-Stars were set to take on the twists and turns of Circuit de la Sarthe for a five lap exhibition for bragging rights.

Many big names in sim racing including Jardier (Jaroslav Honzik), GamerMuscle (James West) and Dan Suzuki, as well as many members of the sim racing industry, such as Studio397’s Paul Jeffrey and Traxion.GG’s own Ross McGregor, were included in the driver roster.

Antonin Titus led the field to the green flag for the five lap exhibition around Circuit de la Sarthe as Manuel Rodriguez overtook McGregor for the second spot into the first corner. Titus was able pull away to a healthy lead as the battle continued on behind him.

The mid pack was the place to be for the best battles. Henri Sinik started the fight from the 15th and final position, and by the final lap, he was up to fourth after passing the likes of Suzuki, GamerMuscle and Jardier. Given another lap, he might have even been able to take a podium spot.

Speaking of the podium, the battle for second was a hot one as things got a bit physical on the opening lap between Rodriguez and McGregor. While Rodriguez initially won the battle, McGregor would win the war as he moved into the runner-up spot a lap later and never looked back.

Rodriguez wound up falling out of the podium place as he lost the spot to Nello Pastorino and then another spot to Sinik on the final lap. Rodriguez was able to hold on to a Top 5 as Pastorino held off Sinik for the final step on the podium.

Titus would be unbeatable, as McGregor could not chase him down. McGregor barely held off Pastorino and Sinik for second. Jardier would end up sixth, and Neil Wood rounded out the Top 10.
