Original Article
Rennsport is set to ditch its divisive ‘free-to-play’ pricing model when the game reaches v1.0, it has been revealed today (20th August, 2025).
Although Rennsport is freely available to download on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store currently, its Early Access build features an occasionally baffling pricing model, with extra cars and tracks requiring the purchase of in-game currency (called ‘RENN$’).
Confusingly, so-called ‘Founder’s Packs’, tiered packages with varying levels of content, are (and soon, were) the only way to obtain the Nürburgring Nordschleife, with Gold (€19,99), Platinum (€39,99) and Diamond (€69,99) levels offering extra incentives like car purchase credits, platinum and diamond liveries and your name featured on a track.
New game editions
The team behind Rennsport has now revealed that this system will be dropped when the game releases concurrently on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in ‘Q4 2025’, with the game retailing as Standard and Deluxe versions, the latter of which includes two DLC packs.
These DLC sets are where the classic cars will reside, with Endurance Classic Part 1 expected in December 2025, and Touring Classics in early 2026. Group C and DTM cars plus further tracks are expected.
The Battlepass element of Rennsport will also be discontinued the day before v1.0 drops.

The Deluxe version also controversially includes the Nurburgring Nordschleife and the Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport car.
Pre-ordering either edition will grant players the Ford Mustang GT3 plus an exclusive livery and a 72-hour early game unlock period (the Mustang is currently only available via pre-order).
Perks for those who purchased during early access
Those who purchased Rennsport Founder’s Packs on PC won’t be left empty-handed, as Gold and Platinum backers will receive a free Standard Edition of the game. Diamond backers will receive a Deluxe Edition of the game.
Your current RENN$ balance will carry over into v1.0 and can be used to buy cosmetic items. Interestingly, on PC, both editions of Rennsport will be handled officially as ‘DLC’, muddying the waters slightly.

Update: Pricing confirmed
Since the original publication of this article on 20th August, now on the 21st August, Traxion can confirm the pricing for Rennsport, having spoken to the developers at Gamescom. It will be as follows:
Rennsport Standard Edition
- Base game (18 cars, 13 tracks) – €59.99 on PC, €69.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S

- Deluxe edition includes the base game plus Nurburgring Nordschleife track, Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport car and access to two future DLC packs (Endurance Classic Part 1 and Touring Classics) – €69.99 on PC, €79.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S
Rennsport pre-order bonus
- Digital pre-orders of either Rennsport edition (standard or deluxe) receive the Ford Mustang GT3 car and 72 hours of early access
