RaceRoom’s latest update is almost ready to drop, and developer KW Studios has revealed more details on the already-previewed Super Tourers, Singen street circuit and new Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO II liveries slated for release on the 24th of June.

During the GridTalk episode, RaceRoom also offered a tantalising glimpse into the future of the free-to-play sim, with upgraded visuals, ranked multiplayer and new esports formats planned for later updates.

There’s also something quite special to look forward to in the future, especially if you’re an endurance racing fan…

Two new Super Tourers

The Opel Vectra and Alfa Romeo 156 will join RaceRoom’s highly successful legion of incumbent Super Tourers, including the Audi A4 Quattro, BMW 320i, Honda Accord, Volvo 850 and Volvo S40.

The Opel will appear in its STW guise with no apparent plans to release the car as a Vauxhall, in deference to the GM marque’s British sister brand. The car was raced most famously by Uwe Alzen in period, helping the German take a total of eight STW wins.

The Alfa Romeo 156 was mainly found in the Italian Super Touring series, barring a one-off appearance in STW, and found continued success in the hands of Fabrizio Giovanardi in the European Super Touring Cup (2000) and European Super Touring Championship as the format began to implode due to rising costs.

Alemannenring

The Alemannenring (more popularly known as Singen) joins the phalanx of ’90s-era DTM content already in RaceRoom, including the three main vehicular protagonists: the Opel Calibra V6 4×4, Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI and AMG-Mercedes C-Klasse.

Although the track is no longer in use, it was immensely popular with fans thanks to its central location, using Singen’s streets to chaotic effect:

Singen joins the likes of Fliegerhorst Diepholz and Avus in-game, notably making RaceRoom the only native sim where you can drive historic DTM cars on accurate versions of classic tracks.

New Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO II Liveries

Although introduced in RaceRoom’s November 2024 update, the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO II is no longer restricted to the DTM 2024 DLC pack, now forming part of the sim’s GTR 3 category.

To celebrate this, RaceRoom has given the car a suite of new liveries, including some found in IMSA and the 24 Hours of Nürburgring endurance race. These will also be available to purchase separately.

Esports

RaceRoom also plans to hold two new esports competitions, with a Nürburgring 2.4h Special Event in the works (more details to be revealed soon).

Additionally, the RaceRoom Super Touring Car Championship will be a ’90s-themed ode to Super Touring car racing.

Hypercars

As an added treat, RaceRoom also offered a glimpse at a new Hypercar class, with the BMW M Hybrid V8 and Lamborghini SC63 shown previously. However, KW Studios has also confirmed the Porsche 963 is on the way, no doubt pleasing many endurance racing fans.

The future of RaceRoom

This is RaceRoom, like you’ve never seen it before

RaceRoom’s new Physically Based Rendering graphics update looks set to modernise the ageing sim’s visual appeal further, with more advances expected with the game’s proprietary online ranked multiplayer system (originally expected in Q2 but now pushed back) ahead of the next major update.
