  • Reiza Studios has struck a deal for Aston Martin race and road cars to be added to Automobilista 2 via DLC
  • The naturally-aspirated V12 Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH and Vantage AMR GT3 Evo help fill in some IMSA roster gaps
  • Road-going Valkyrie also expected at some point

A fresh addition to Automobilista 2’s diverse vehicle roster will be Aston Martin.

Helping top-up its contemporary endurance racing classes, a selection of cars from the British sports car manufacturer are being developed.

This includes the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo and Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH, both of which are seen in real-world IMSA-affiliated series this season. As Reiza Studios’ sim platform is officially IMSA certified, this is a logical step.

“We have Aston Martin who will be joining Automobilista 2, that’s fresh news, with the Valkyrie making its way,” said Studio Head and Project Manager, Renato Simioni, to Traxion.

When asked if it would be the race or road-going version of the Adrian Newey envisioned car, the answer was “both, who doesn’t like a V12?”

Then, when queried about the GT3 Aston, Simioni enthusiastically responded: “Yeah, if we’re going to get a license, we better go the full way!”

As for other potential additions to the platform, the near-term view for the development team will be endurance, following the wild Super Trophy Trucks in March.

“We’re going to shift the focus back to endurance for this first step, where we have some great licenses for some nice new cars that we’ll make for the game,” explained Simioni.

“In the IMSA field, we have some missing parts there in terms of getting the full fields, and we will fill up a few of those missing parts.

“The next update is going to be an endurance update, [a DLC pack] focused on the modern stuff and IMSA.”
