For younger racing enthusiasts, perhaps those who are considering karting, a new child-friendly sim racing cockpit has been announced.
The GTLite Junior Simulator Cockpit is by Next Level Racing, and it takes many ideas and features from its adult-sized contemporaries.
This is a fold-up device, designed primarily for entry-level steering wheel and pedal devices. The theory being this is a lightweight item, that can be stowed when not in use – but stil keep the wheel affixed, even when packed away.
Drivers aged between five and 12 years old, between the heights of 90cm – 150cm or 2’9″ – 4’9″, are supported.
Its backrest, wheel angle and pedal plate placement can all be adjusted without the need for tools (with the twist of a knob, instead), and the seat material is intrinsically part of the chassis.
“We believe that sim racing should be accessible to everyone, including the youngest members of the racing community,” said Hess Ghah, CEO of Next Level Racing.
“The GTLite Junior Simulator Cockpit provides an affordable and feature-rich solution that inspires kids to explore their passion for racing while delivering the same quality and innovation that Next Level Racing is known for.”
The device will be available from the end of November in the USA and mid-December in the rest of the world.
It’s priced at a budget-friendly $149/€159/£149. There is 5% off when using the Traxion affiliate link and discount code TRAXION24
