Another monthly update, another new car teaser on Twitter. This time, we think the three new cars include an award-winner, a JDM special and some Italian brio.
Nissan Skyline (R32) GT-R Nismo
The R32 generation of Nissan’s Skyline is already present within Gran Turismo 7, thanks to the V-Spec II GT-R.
However, to the right of the shot, these are unmistakable lines of yet another model of the generation. It could be the lower-spec, but still quick, GTS-t TypeM or the homologation-evo limited edition Nismo variant. If the latter, which we believe the side skirts allude to, we’d love the R33 and R34 Nismo specials to also feature in a future update. Pretty please.
1960s Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT
At the back of shot, the unmistakable lines of a Giorgetto Giugiaro-designed Alfa Romeo.
This isn’t a modern Guilia, seen in Gran Turismo 7 in the wild GTAm version, but one from the 1960s, when airbags were but a dream and emissions regulations didn’t exist. As part of the 105/115 series models, there are several potential variations, from the Sprint 1600 GTA seen in Gran Turismo 4 or something like the GT Veloce 1600 as reviewed in the video below by Harry Metcalfe.
Either way, expect minimalist design cues and a fizzy engine mixed with a raspy exhaust sound.
Greening Auto Company 1971 Ford Maverick
Following the likes of the Wicked Fabrication GT 51 and GReddy Fugu Z is what we think is another SEMA-award winner. Held up until 2018, the Gran Turismo award at the LAs vega-based car tuning and modifying event would see Kazunori Yamauchi pick his ‘best in show’.
This car in turn would then appear in a Gran Turismo game. Dating back to 2003 with a Buick in Gran Turismo 4, this latest addition is a heavily modified Ford Maverick with 1,200bhp. It was created by owner Jimmy Shaw by the Greening Auto Company.
