Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown developer apologises for Season 5 issues, hotfix expected next week

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown’s troublesome Season 5 update launched with a myriad of issues last week.

The first of several updates planned for Year 2 brings several new features and improvements, including the return of taxi missions, the ability to sell cars, higher race payouts and enhanced graphics.

Unfortunately, the update was plagued with issues, with players experiencing game crashes on PC and an HDR bug on all platforms, among other setbacks.

In response, KT Racing and Nacon have apologised for the problems players are experiencing in Season 5, confirming that a hotfix is expected to arrive “by the middle of next week.”

“We’d like to apologise with the release of Season 5,” the developer wrote in an official social media post. “We will be releasing a hotfix by the middle of next week that will address the following:

• AMD 9000 Series crash
• HDR Issue
• Urus not being given to players
• Other various crashes
• Other fixes noted by the community will be confirmed later this week such as Gold/Silver token redemption, Poker fixes, Bloom issue, etc.”

More details about the hotfix are expected by Monday, 10^th November, according to the update.

On PC, players with AMD 9000 series graphics cards are experiencing crash issues since the Season 5 update. Meanwhile, HDR is not working on all platforms, causing the image to ‘white out’ when enabled.  

Players are also reporting not receiving Solar Pass rewards, prompting KT Racing to temporarily disable the ability to use Gold and Silver tokens. It’s an unfortunate launch for what otherwise seems to be a content-rich update.

Season 5 is set to receive at least two additional content updates after the hotfix and is expected to last for five months, with Season 6 now delayed until March 2026.

“The current official update delivery schedule is December for the Update 1, and early 2026 for Update 2,” Community Manager Alex VII said in an update last week.

“That said, I do not think it is in our best interest to release a monetisation store with the game in this state, nor have players wait months to play what is once the most awaited season for Season 5.”
