RaceRoom Racing Experience has announced that the BMW M4 GT3 will be released to the free-to-play sim racing platform next week.

Last month (5th April 2023), RaceRoom stated it would release larger, quarterly content packs; starting with the On the Edge Pack featuring the Mazda RT-24P DPi, McLaren 570S GT4 and KTMX-Bow GT2/GTX.

However, BMW’s latest GT3 challenger will be available as an intermediary release ahead of the next content pack next month.

The new M4 GT3 will come to RaceRoom boasting several current liveries, including those seen in the US-based IMSA series and the Nordschleife-specific Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) championship (ironically displaying Gran Turismo sun strips).

Although the release of a new GT3 car to RaceRoom is a story in itself, the sim is also set to rework its force feedback system and car balancing.

Arriving at the same time as the BMW M4 GT3 will be revisions to car balancing and force feedback. First for attention is the Balance of Performance (BoP) for the sim’s selection of GT3 racers (including examples from Audi, Bentley, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Ford, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, SCG P4/5 Competizione and Porsche).

This will include revised power-to-weight ratios and aerodynamic adjustments – similar to those undertaken by the FIA/SRO Motorsports Group for real-world motorsport.

Secondly, there will be a new force feedback linearity update, providing each car with reworked steering feel at slower speeds. Once implemented, this will eliminate the FFB Linearity option in the game’s force feedback settings.

The RaceRoom team promise this will deliver more dynamic force feedback and make all cars more “grounded and solid to drive”.

An exact date for the release of the BMW M4 GT3, force feedback tweaks and BoP adjustments has yet to be revealed, but it will arrive at some point week commencing the 22nd of May.
