A new type of stock car is heading to the iRacing service in 2022, and it’s not a new NASCAR vehicle.
iRacing is coming to Brazil. Well, rather, Brazil is coming to iRacing.
In a new agreement with Stock Car Brasil, the Brazilian Pro Series cars are coming to iRacing next year. The Chevrolet Cruze and the Toyota Corolla are in development, the two cars currently used in the top Brazilian motorsports series.
Many famous drivers in all of motorsports have come through Stock Car Brasil. Rubens Barrichello, Felipe Massa, Nelson Piquet Jr, Ricardo Zonta and Tony Kanaan are notable past and current drivers. The series is in its 43rd season in 2021, having started in 1979.
The 2021 cars currently exist on Automobilista 2. Per the AMS2 car page, the cars boast 450 HP, have a 6-speed sequential, and is a RWD with V8 engine power. I’ll be interested to see how the cars stack up against one another on the iRacing sim. Check out the full release over on the iRacing site and expect the drop at some point in 2022.
