2022 iRacing Season 2 Touring Car Turn Racing Challenge – Week 8 at Summit Point | Dave Cam

At the two-thirds mark of iRacing‘s 2022 Season 2, the Touring Car Turn Racing Challenge series moves on to another one of the included tracks that comes free with iRacing membership. Summit Point Motorsports Park is the venue, and as Dave Cam has discovered, this track is not well suited for TCRs.

Ain this week’s track guide, Dave will utilize the Hyundai Elantra N Touring Car, one of the choices in the Touring Car Turn Racing Challenge official series. That series hosts the Elantra N, Audi RS 3 LMS, Honda Civic Type R and the Hyundai Veloster N TC. All of these cars are front-wheel drive, and that makes avoiding understeer a major challenge.

Summit Point has multiple layouts, but the one on the menu is the main circuit. It measures in at two miles in length (3.22-kilometers) and features 10 corners. As Dave puts it, you’ll need to use the accelerator differently than what you might be used to, to get the car to rotate around the corners.

Even though the on and off throttle times might be different, Dave still has all of the braking markers, reference points, and other quirks to get around the course in a timely fashion. It’s the slow and methodical approach at work, ladies and gentlemen. If you’ve tuned into prior Summit Point track guides, pay special attention today as you might learn something new.

The iRacing Touring Car Turn Racing Challenge series only has five weeks remaining. If you’re interested in running in this series, the full season schedule is listed below. Make sure you check out all of Dave’s other videos on the Traxion.GG platforms. Go vote now for Dave’s next Pick N’ Mix challenge later this week, and as we always say, keep it pinned.
