RaceRoom has been buoyed of late, ever since its new multiplayer ranking system. At the peak of this system are Special Events, where large numbers of sim racers participate at the same time across multiplayer splits.
These splits are determined on their previously accrued ratings – however, in what has been described as a “critical failure in our server system” prevented the automated splits from generating and drivers from entering.
A community server was switched on in lieu, so the event could run, but it encountered stability issues and a lack of a ranking system.

Following the event, the free-to-enter sim racing platform published a statement and apology to its social media channels:
“We want to sincerely apologise for this. We know how much time, preparation and excitement goes into an event like this, and we fully understand the frustration and disappointment this has caused.
At this moment, we are still investigating what exactly went wrong. As soon as we have a clear understanding of the root cause, we will share it with you transparently.
