2022 Formula 1 cars set for Real Racing 3 debut

EA’s free-to-play mobile racing game, Real Racing 3, has announced a special new update. On the 13th of September, the game will receive the entire 2022 Formula 1 grid. As well as the fastest race cars on the planet, three new bonus cars are also set to be included.

The new update comes at the beginning of Real Racing 3’s second season, where new events and prizes are available for participating players. Season 1 events will still be available for a limited time, however, with Rounds 1, 2 and 3 still accessible until 25th October, 8th November and 22nd November respectively.

Ferrari SF90 Stradale

2022 Formula 1 cars set for Real Racing 3 debut

Ferrari’s SF90 Stradale is the first car from the Maranello manufacturer to feature Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technology. Boasting a combined 986bhp from its electric and petrol drivetrains, the SF90 accelerates to 62mph in a rapid 2.5seconds.

It has a full electric range of 16 miles and produces 154 g/km of CO2 emissions. Is it really a green car then? No, it’s Rosso Red…

Mitsubishi Motors Lancer Evolution VI

Another rally homologation special, this Mitsubishi is a four-wheel-drive masterpiece of grip. Although not named as such in Real Racing 3, this example is the Tommi Mäkinen Edition, named after the Japanese manufacturer’s Finnish four-time World Rally Championship (WRC) winner.

The car was available to buy between 1999-2001, and thanks to its rally heritage has become a collector’s item, with real-world prices rising up to £100,000. It’s free in Real Racing 3, however…

Subaru Impreza 22B-STi Version

Another rally-inspired four-wheel-drive beast, the Subaru Impreza is arguably a more iconic car in motorsport circles thanks to its association with British WRC champions Richard Burns and Colin McRae.

McRae made his name driving Imprezas to the absolute limit (and frequently beyond it) and the 22B was conceived in celebration of the Japanese company’s 40th anniversary, as well as their third consecutive manufacturer title in the WRC – spearheaded by British engineering firm Prodrive.

Also available in Limited Time events are the following cars:

Lamborghini Diablo SV Limited Series

The Lamborghini Diablo SV Limited Series (the SV stands for Super Veloce, or Super Fast, in English) does exactly what it says on the tin. It goes super-fast.

Featuring 510bhp and rear-wheel-drive only, the Diablo SV is a beast to control – something Lamborghini’s engineers acknowledged with the addition of an adjustable rear spoiler. It also had bigger brakes than the original Diablo to help combat its extra Veloce. Mamma Mia!

This event starts on the 20th of September and lasts for seven days.

Porsche 911 GT2 RS TTC

2022 Formula 1 cars set for Real Racing 3 debut

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS TTC was built in compliance with the SRO’s GT2 European series, so Porsche customers could go racing in a powerful yet controllable car.

Speaking of power, the GT2 generates 700bhp from its 3.8l flat-six motor, with a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) gearbox swapping cogs at a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it rate.

This event runs from the 23rd of September until the 6th of October.

Photo Mode

To the delight of many racing game fans, Real Racing 3 is set to feature a new photo mode for use with Android devices. Seen as a must-have game mode these days, the photo mode promises to show off your hard-earned cars in their best light.

The photo mode – already available in iOS devices – lets players control the angle and position of their virtual camera via their phones, but advanced options like aperture and shutter speed are missing.

Oh, how we love a photo mode at Traxion.GG…
