Back at it again in the new-to-iRacing Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO, Dave Cam is back on his iRacing rig for the next week in 2021 Season 4. This week, it’s the Red Bull Ring, another track we have a Dave Cam Porsche track guide for, but it’s important to differentiate between the cars. There are some similarities, but Dave has the proper tips, quirks, and braking points for the Ferrari.
Originally the Österreichring and the A1 Ring, it’s been the Red Bull Ring since 2011. Red Bull signed on for a €70m reconstruction and the track was renewed for high level racing competition. The current 4.318-kilometer or 2.683-mile Grand Prix layout has been used since 2016. It’s a 10-turn facility with high speeds, sharp corners at some points and winding corners elsewhere. This venue currently hosts Formula 1 and MotoGP, having also run DTM events in the past.
As all Dave Cam track guides are, this is NOT a place for hot laps. Dave brings that slow and methodical approach to learning the ins and outs of each course. Dave will show how to use alternate lines and where to overtake. There’s even a section in this video for the pit road entry and exit! You might not learn about the fastest laps here, but these guides will help you learn the first steps to getting there. Like and subscribe if you picked up your pace this week!
