Remember – if you’re considering a Gr.4 or Gr.3 racing car in Gran Turismo 7, go Supra.
Your guide to Gran Turismo 7's Daily Races, wc 31st July - Super Supra

Karting makes a return for this week’s Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, but it’s the Toyota GR Supra that will likely dominate the time sheets as it looks to be the ideal car for both Race B and C.

For those new to these events within the game, you can find GT7’s Daily Races in the game’s Sport Mode, offering online ranked racing where you will be placed within events based on your previous performances.

Race A

Don’t do this…

This was a classic set-up in GT Sport’s formative Sport Mode races – the fictional kart and the diminutive Tsukuba on the outskirts of Tokyo.

You’ll need to be razer-sharp with your input. One movement, nothing exaggerated, smooth on exit. The second the Shifter starts to slide you’re losing time and position.

During the race, a slipstream is essential – unless you’re leading – stay with the pack otherwise, you’ll be toast. The opening corner remains, as ever with this circuit, the best overtaking opportunity, and watch on lap seven and eight for the top few to start taking chunks out of each other.

Recommended car: Racing Kart 125 Shifter (Brand Central, 350,000 Credits or free rental)

Race B

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, 31st July 2023, Race B, Supra GT3

One of the trickiest circuits in Gran Turismo 7, Bathurst’s Mount Panorama is filled with steep inclines, concrete walls and downhill chicanes which catch out the unwary.

Coming down Conrod is your best overtaking opportunity, and for crying out loud, do not try to pass during the descent. That’s madness.

Several of the Gr.3 cars are competitive here, but our mantra is… if in doubt, Supra.

No need to worry about fuel or tyres here, just avoid those walls. Easier said than done, here.

Recommended car: Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept ’18 Gr.3 (Brand Central, 450,000 Credits or free rental)

Race C

We may have switched from the Gr.3 to Gr.4 category between Race B and Race C, but the answer is still the same: Supra.

Unlike in the quicker category, here the Supra is a much more obvious choice, as it seems to be perfectly attuned to the current incarnation of Trial Mountain.

The first sector is always a mess on the opening lap, so watch out. Survive that, at the sweeping left-handed hairpin is your main overtaking/defending area. There’s also a chance into the penultimate corner, although you risk being victim to a cut-back down the start/finish straight.

Recommended car: Toyota GR Supra Race Car ’19 Gr.4 (Brand Central, 350,000 Credits or free rental)

Lap Time Challenges

Two Lap Time Challenges are available at the time of publication. One of which is about to end, this Thursday, with the Red Bull X2014 Junior at a wet Spa-Francorchamps.
