Project Motor Racing’s Factory Driver Program is open for entries now, giving players a chance to play the game ahead of release.

In return, players are expected to offer developers handling and set-up feedback to help improve the feel and performance of the sim’s cars.

In a presentation by ex-Top Gear Stig Ben Collins, Straight4 Studios outlines how sim racers can apply for the FDP, with applicants selected based on their overall sim racing skill and experience levels, as well as other criteria.

This means the FDP is unlike a normal beta program, in that participants are hand-picked and should, in theory, provide more pointed feedback.

How to apply for Project Motor Racing’s Factory Driver Program

To apply for the PMR FDP, sim racers should visit the Factor Driver Program website, with applications open now.

Across five separate categories, players are tasked with answering up to 40 Likert-style questions regarding five relevant facets of PMR’s handling model: Car Setup, Authenticity, Finding Speed, Endurance Racing, and Dynamic Track.

Currently only open to PC players, all the answers given by FDP participants are fed into a custom algorithm, which allows Straight4 to speedily analyse, alter and improve PMR’s handling.

“Instead of waiting six months for a car to be updated, we can potentially start chasing all these fixes in an afternoon,” stated PMR’s Game Design Director, Austin Ogonoski, to Traxion recently.

Project Motor Racing is set to release on the 25th of November across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
