It all started with the surprise arrival of the 2024-season GT World Challenge update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S Assetto Corsa Competizione owners.
This arrived a staggering 11 months after the equivalent update on PC, and for Microsoft console users, it also brought an unexpected feature – it prevented the use of steering wheels.

Originally created by Kunos Simulazioni, the Xbox and PlayStation versions are ported by Untold Games. After a six-day wait, a 1.9.14.1 update has been pushed to both devices (4th August), with Xbox players in particular now reporting functioning wheels again.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused to Xbox players following the latest ACC update,” said a 505 Games spokesperson (ACC’s publisher) to Traxion on 30th July.
“Thank you for your patience!” reads an official social media post in relation to the new fix.
The patch also includes fixes for those who were reporting game crashes when a setup was being loaded.
It comes at a time when the Kunos development team and 505 Games publishers continue to ponder the future of the platform. They have previously stated that they may update Competizione “until [Assetto Corsa] EVO is ready to take the seat.”
