WATCH: Trying NASCAR Heat 5 and the Fanatec Podium Rim for the first time

There’s been a bit of a theme around these parts recently. We’ve had Joey Stone deliver his driving and set-up tips around the Homestead-Miami Speedway, I’ve tried my hand at the iRacing Daytona 500 and now, I’m giving NASCAR Heat 5 a whirl for the first time. Could it be because we’re partnering with Live Fast Motorsports for today’s Dixie Vodka 400 Cup Series race?

Yes, it’s exactly that.

In this video, not only do I try the official game around Homestead, I use the Fanatec Podium Wheel Rim too to get maximum NASCAR feels.

The aim was to finish the race, manage tyre wear and check out the matching steering wheel peripheral while trying not to embarrass myself in front of NASCAR aficionados.

So, I’m not giving you any expert hints and tips and if you’re a Heat 5 regular, you may laugh at my naivety – but, that’s all part of the fun.
