Monster Games and iRacing’s official World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing game, is set to receive its first significant post-release content drop before the end of October.
Executive Vice President of the subscription-based simulation platform, Steve Myers, recently took to social media to clarify upcoming plans.
“You are downloading the first part of the update for the next @outlaws_game patch and UMP modified and I-55 release, which is pencilled in to be released on October 28th or the 31st.”
This followed some Xbox users reporting their console downloaded part of a patch on Friday, 14th October.
The official World of Outlaws game account sent out a tweet on Wednesday, 19th October confirming the news with a video trailer, which showed off the new UMP Mods as well as the new track, Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. The official date of the release will be 28th October 2022.
An optional season pass of additional downloadable content is available for the game, priced at $29.99/£24.99.
It is set to add three licensed tracks and two new vehicle classes, “released through the end of 2022.”
UMP Modified is a class of dirt oval racing vehicle made to United Midwestern Promoters rules, hence the name. The category already exists on iRacing.
Speaking of which, I-55 refers to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55, a 1/3-mile dirt track in Missouri which was added to iRacing earlier this year.
Both of these additional items will be included for use in the extensive World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing career mode.
Any quality-of-life changes also arriving with the update are yet to be unveiled.
Released in September for PlayStation and Xbox, the title was praised in our review:
“The game has a feel that really harkens back to the days of the early 2000s when racing console games were arguably at their peak. This would totally be a game that a young me would find himself playing after school every day.”
