Euro Truck Simulator 2’s latest update refreshes Scandinavia, adds HDR support

Following an open beta earlier this month, Euro Truck Simulator 2’s v1.57 update is available now.

Headlining the update is a substantial refresh for the Scandinavia DLC, with the region updated with improved textures, vegetation and road assets, alongside new rest stops and fuel stations.

Elsewhere, Denmark’s capital city, Copenhagen, has been rebuilt, with two new cities also added: Denmark’s Aarhus and Sweden’s Karlstad.

For those with a compatible TV or monitor, Euro Truck Simulator 2 now supports high dynamic range (HDR). This will be automatically enabled on HDR-compatible displays and can be calibrated to adjust the brightness and contrast.

First introduced in American Truck Simulator, dynamic cargo unloading and loading is now implemented in Euro Truck Simulator 2 as part of the v1.57 update. Initially supported for logging trailers, this will first take place in the Nordic Horizons DLC before expanding to depots across the main map, other map DLCs and a custom shipyard in Athens, Greece.

Scania R and S Series trucks have also received a significant overhaul, with the latest SUPER engines and V8 powertrains alongside Opticruise G25, G33, and G38 transmissions. New customisation options are also available for these trucks, including SUPER badges, sensor-equipped fenders and paint jobs.

Elsewhere, Special Transport DLC has expanded with two new cargoes, including a wind turbine blade and underground loader, while the Krone Trailer Pack DLC introduces city versions of existing Krone trailers:

Additional updates and features

•     Profi Liner gains a new body variant: Profi Liner TIR with sideboards.
•     Profi Liner and Dry Liner both receive new 15m chassis and body variants
•     The Profi Liner building variant receives a new chassis with a steerable axle plus an additional new body design

Rounding off the v1.57 update are now company profile logos, new customisation options for paint jobs and the ability to adjust trailer suspension height.
