How do you follow up a Mercedes Unimog? Well, Polyphony Digital’s response to that is a French van.
As is tradition, the week preceding the last Thursday of the month is time for Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi to share a shadowy teaser for Gran Turismo 7.
This time, it confirms that the next update is on the way soon, “next week”, and that it will include three vehicles. Here’s what we think they are:
Renault Kangoo

The first generation (main article image) of Renault’s popular compact van, the Kangoo was also available with some glass and rudimentary windows to create an affordable ‘car’. But really, it’s a van.
In Japan, the home of Gran Turismo’s creators, this diminutive model has a cult following, with many owners customising their Kangoos in typically esoteric fashion. There’s even a large ‘Kangoo Jamboree’ meetup, where over 2,000 congregate in celebration of this slow, but practical, rectangle.
Based on the radio aerial placement and curvature of the bonnet, we’d estimate this to be the first-generation model, which began life in 1997.

Aston Martin Vantage
This two-seater, two-door, rear-wheel-drive sports car has just been replaced. Perfect timing to add it to Gran Turismo 7, then… Ahem.

A tricky car to spot, we’d say the twoline indentations in its roof suggest a 2018-2023-generation Aston Martin Vantage. Striking from the rear, the front was afflicted by a fish-like mouth. Unfortunate.
This has been changed for the 2024 model, alongside an all-new interior and wider track. This model, which we think is teased here, uses a 4-0litre twin-turbo V8 from Mercedes-Benz.
Mazda CX-30
The shadow over the protruding bonnet edge, or grille ceiling, suggests one of Peter Horbury’s revitalising Volvo designs.

But the rest of the body shape belies the Swedish theory, perhaps more telling of a current Mazda. The issue there is that the Mazda3 is already in the game. But the crossover sibling, CX-30 isn’t.
In some markets, this is fitted with a 2.5-litre turbocharged engine with 250ps – so if that’s the model represented here, it’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Then again, it could also be the dreaded diesel…
Gran Turismo 7 March 2025 update release
The next Gran Turismo 7 update is expected to be released on Thursday, 27th March 2025 for PS5 and PS5.
