Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Gran Turismo Award 2022 winner

The 1969 Autobianchi A112 Runabout Bertone Concept Car won the 2022 Gran Turismo Award at the 2022 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

It was submitted by Turin’s Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI). It was designed by Marcello Gandini – other designs include the Lamborghini Miura and Countach – for that year’s Torino Show, with a look inspired by racing boats. That means no doors and headlights mounted on the rollbar behind the driver and passenger. The only instrument inside is a speedometer.

Its wedge-like design went on to provide inspiration for Gandini’s future projects, specifically the Lancia Stratos and Fiat X1/9 sports cars.

The Autobianchi brand is already featured within Gran Turismo 7, with the diminutive 1985 A112 Abarth city car.
