Sandbox police game The Precinct, filled with movie-style vehicle chases, has received its first significant post-release update.

Released in May, and created by a diminutive four-person team, the free patch adds a solo mode. Here, instead of a cop duo, you, rather obviously, patrol the streets by yourself.

There are now customisation options for people and vehicles. Five new car liveries, 10 new outfits, eight new hats and four types of glasses are now selectable, including a rather natty blue and yellow State Police paint scheme.

These additions arrive alongside a slew of bug fixes and refinements, such as reducing game crashes, increasing the damage threshold for excessive ramming and vehicles should no longer flip when searching a trunk close to another car.

The Precinct is an enjoyable GTA-style police sandbox, featuring pulse-pounding car chases, comprehensive crime systems and a gritty city to explore,” we said in our review.

The update is now live on all platforms – PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
