The Playseat Sensation Pro cockpit is getting a facelift for 2021

One of our favourite sim racing cockpits has been updated, as Playseat launches the 2021 version of its Sensation Pro.

At first glance, the differences between the current model and the updated version seem relatively minor, as they both have the same shape and size. Looking closer, it’s evident that the mechanics are now more streamlined and ergonomics improved.

Two areas that stand out are the base where the wheel attaches and the plate where the pedals rest. Both areas show improvement over the current model. The wheelbase itself is now able to accept direct drive wheels natively with the addition of the Playseat Direct Drive PRO Adapter – created from anodized aluminium to withhold the extreme forces. The new pedal box, meanwhile, has enhanced adaptability options and can withhold higher amounts of braking force.

Both the wheel and pedal areas are completely adjustable in their angle, length, and height, with the aim of delivering an authentic seating position.

The current model has a TV stand attached to the frame that can be removed and replaced with an accessory TV stand separate from the frame. The new model will have an integrated, removable stand where gamers “can choose to put the simulator in front of their television at the most suitable distance without any interference of vibration”.

The updated cockpit is compatible with the optional Playseat Sensation PRO SIM Platform that provides added extensions – available for both the left and right side – enabling the use of shifters, handbrakes or button boxes.

The cockpit will cost €1,899,/£1,649/$2,299, while the additional SIM platforms are €199/£169/$249 each and the wheel adapter for the direct drive is €149/£129/$179. It’s available to order right now. Let us know if you own a Playseat at home in the comments below.
