The Crew Motorfest set for “sharper and cleaner” visuals on PS5 Pro

When the PlayStation 5 Pro launches on 7th November, it will have a brightly-coloured racing game natively supporting the enhanced hardware from day one.

The Crew Motorfest, seen by many as the zenith of Ubisoft Ivory Tower’s three-game series, will be updated to match the bump in horsepower.

“With the power and new features of PS5 Pro, we had the opportunity to push visual settings and details even further,” said Didier Blanché, Technical Director at the French development studio.

“Sharper and cleaner image quality thanks to PSSR, with more objects on-screen – decals, vegetation, crowds – all running at 60fps.”

PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) is Sony’s moniker for ‘AI-powered’ resolution upscaling to purportedly boost detail.

There’s no word yet if the PS5 Pro version of Motorfest will implement functioning rear-view mirrors.

Presently, on a standard PS5, Motorfest can run at a native 4K at 30 frames per second, or a lower resolution (dynamic 1440p) at a smoother 60fps. A bump to double that with enhanced detail is welcome on paper.

PS5 Pro releases November at $699 with larger GPU, AI and ‘Advanced’ ray tracing

Apart from inclusion within fast-paced sizzle compilations, there is no clear gameplay comparison of the game on PS5 vs PS5 Pro yet. Gran Turismo 7 and EA SPORTS F1 24 are also confirmed to receive Pro-specific upgrades.

The Pro enhancements arrive just one day after a significant update for the title – a second Hawaiian island, new Japanese car-themed playlist and a second DLC pass arrived on 6th November.
