Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is getting a new PC anti-cheat system

Update: Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown’s latest patch is out now, bringing more bug fixes alongside the new anti-cheat system and leaderboard reset. A changelog can be found at the bottom of the article.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is getting an anti-cheat for PC in a new update arriving tomorrow (29^th January).

Following last December’s mammoth Season 2 update, which added a free Ibiza map expansion, a new Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown patch update is coming tomorrow at 8:30am UTC / 8:30am GMT /  3:30am ET / 12:30am PT.

Tomorrow’s patch will include bug fixes across all platforms and a new anti-cheat system specifically for PC. Solar Crown’s new SARD anti-cheat system is being introduced as “some cheaters have significantly impacted race leaderboards,” which is “negatively affecting other players’ experiences” on PC.

Alongside the new anti-cheat system, race leaderboards will be reset to “ensure fairer competition” and “provide a clearer comparison among the best Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown players.”

KT Racing says the leaderboards are also being reset to reflect changes to race restrictions as well as balancing adjustments to car performances and upgrades in Season 2. Leaderboards will be reset periodically to address changes to car balancing and race restrictions.

KT Racing is currently focusing on Season 3, which will introduce “new features” and “significant quality-of-life improvements.”

The planned Clan War feature was originally set to arrive in Season 3 in March, but has been postponed so that KT Racing can “prioritise gameplay improvements and deliver new features which better embrace the Test Drive Unlimited DNA.”

A release date for Season 3 has yet to be confirmed.
