Fans of arena-based motocross action will now be able to take part in the first Supercross esports competition, the SX eSport Championship.

The grand prize on offer is a real Yamaha Wolverine RMAX4 1000 LE, a side-by-side off-road recreation vehicle where you can take three friends along for a ride. But, before you start daydreaming of an overlanding adventure, let’s go through the esports event structure.

The competition is open to all players of Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 4 on PS5, PS5, PC, Xbox Series and Xbox One. Access to the competition will be in-game, via a dedicated esports area.

Before that, however, you first need to register online. Then, between the 7th May and 30th June 2021, there will be in-game time trials making up Stage 1. From there, the top 12 from each console/device type move on to Stage 2.

At some point in July 2021, Stage 2 will consist of Head-to-Head races in Supercross 4, across three heats. The top two on each platform then move on to Stage 3.

The eSX Finals, which are yet to have a confirmed date, take place with the ten remaining participants who will fight it out for ultimate glory and the Yamaha vehicle.

A first for the Supercross games, 2021 has seen a significant step up in terms of community engagement, as the eSX series goes alongside the incredible track creation competition too.
