Simagic reveals improved QR-A quick-release adapter for third-party steering wheels

Simagic has revealed its QR-A quick-release adapter for third-party sim steering wheels.

The new product, which supplants the Chinese manufacturer’s incumbent QR70/QR50 Quick Release, is specifically tailored for the firm’s latest Alpha Evo wheelbases, comprising the 9 Nm Alpha Evo Sport, the 12 Nm Alpha Evo, and the 18 Nm Alpha Evo Pro.

The QR-A is CNC-machined from forged aluminium alloy and supports 50mm and 70mm bolt patterns to fit many third-party steering wheels, with support confirmed for a range of Ascher Racing, Cube Controls and GSI rims (see table below).

Simagic packages the QR-A with a USB-A to USB-C data cable, which connects the third-party steering wheel to the QR-A, with a special grooved design that aids cable management. The QR-A and steering wheel are then attached to the Alpha Evo as normal.

The wheelbase is then connected to your PC via the ‘Input 1’ and ‘Input 2’ slots to its rear.

The Simagic QR-A is now available for purchase at $89 (excluding shipping and taxes).
