Road Atlanta, multi-class racing and two new cars hit Forza Motorsport

On the same day a Forza Horizon 5 update arrives, so too the circuit-based Forza Motorsport received fresh content.

The headline here is another free circuit for Microsoft’s sim-lite racer, in the form of Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Yet another venue that appears to be ported across, and updated, from 2017’s Forza Motorsport 7, the Georgian circuit is known for a high-speed back straight and a plunging first sector.

A shorter Club layout is also included. There’s a pause now for additional circuits, with the next expected in October.

Multi-class online racing

Within featured multiplayer this month, events with multiple car classes will be held within the endurance category. This is not expected to be an ephemeral appearance either, and the multi-class functionality will be carried on henceforth into further multiplayer challenges.

Two new cars

The list of racing-derived cars has also expanded, ideal for the aforementioned multi-class online racing.

This time, these are both free. The Aston Martin AMR Vantage GTE took two class victories in the 2018 FIA World Endurance Championship, while a modern classic, the Nissan Pennzoil NISMO Skyline GT-R competed in the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship during 1998 – now known as Super GT.

Further fixes

As ever with Turn 10 Studios’ latest racing game, there are a host of bug fixes and optimisations as the team plays catch-up after a turbulent launch.

For those with Logitech steering wheel peripherals, its proprietary TrueForce system is now supported, while those on PC with NVIDIA GPUs should see an improvement in performance.

As ever, the single-player and multiplayer roster of events has been updated to match the new content.
