Rennsport, a sim racing game, has finally exited beta and early access phases this week, with the main release set for Thursday, 13th November.
Those who pre-ordered or purchased the Deluxe Edition can drive right now, and the review verdicts are in.
“There are so many experience-wrecking bugs, glitches and offbeat moments right now, we think it’s fair to say that it simply isn’t finished,” we said in our review, while also lauding its multiplayer netcode and cross-platform functionality.
Following this feedback, the creation team – a mix of Competition Company and Teyon – has pledged to a series of game refinements and updates.
“Our focus right now and for the future is simple; We’re committed to steadily improving the overall player experience in Rennsport, and you will see consistent progress over the coming days, weeks, and months,” said the title’s Creative Director, Kim Orremark, to Traxion.
First post-launch patch expected imminently
Xbox players initially suffered from a lack of multiplayer, but this was rectified within the same day. While it is not known which bugs will be squashed first, the initial major update could arrive as early as later this week.
The performance of the AI-powered single-player competitors has been a stand-out pain point to date, with some of their quirks stated as ‘known issues’. It is at least understood that the first changes to this will arrive in the next update.
“Work on our first post-launch patch is already underway, and we expect to release it within this week,” continues Orremark.
“This will include multiple important bug fixes and also already the next updates for our AI drivers.
“Considering the rate of improvements we’ve seen over the past few weeks, I have full confidence in our team’s ability to solve the current issues quickly.”

Roadmap for future content and features expected
Meanwhile, a roadmap for future content, features and updates is not expected this month, but at least by the end of 2025.
Once the first round of hotfixes and patches has been implemented, the first paid DLC pack is set to arrive in December. The Endurance Classics Part 1 pack will include the Le Mans circuit plus three cars: Porsche 911 GT1, Mercedes-Benz CLK LM and Porsche 956.
Virtual reality and dynamic weather are two confirmed features expected at a later date, and presently, there’s no way of hosting a multiplayer lobby or renting a server for friends.
“Looking further into the future, our roadmap is set and will be ready to be communicated before the end of this year,” explains Orremark.
“The launch of the game this week is our race start, and with a solid driving foundation and impeccable cross-play, we are ready to make sure we have a long and exciting race ahead.”
