Competition Company’s nascent racing sim Rennsport has finally made its way to the Steam store, listed as an Early Access title.
Currently in Open Beta, Rennsport was developed with the intention of being an all-encompassing sim, featuring touring cars, prototypes, sportscars and single-seaters.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5 technology, Rennsport has garnered mixed reviews relating to its physics, sounds and graphics performance but will be free-to-play with optional paid-for content and subscriptions. Although, it must be stated that the sim is still very much in development.
Rennsport also forms the basis of the ESL R1 esports competition, boasting the largest prize pool in sim racing, with the best teams and drivers competing for a share of a $500,000 prize pool.
For the moment, the three Founder’s Pack DLCs must be purchased via the Epic Games Store, with Rennsport’s developer assuring customers the content is bound to their Rennsport account only so will show up in the Steam version.
Players do not need to maintain two separate Epic and Steam installations so can simply choose one or the other – in-game progress will not be affected.
