It’s the matchup we’ve all been waiting for, Porsche Coanda and Verstappen Sim Racing against each other in Rennsport R1 for the first time this season.
The former came off the back of disqualification from both races in the previous round for track limits violations, and VSR became the new championship leaders as a result.
Charlie Collins continued his terrific form into the first race, taking pole position and an eventual win by nearly four seconds at Sebring. His teammate, Josh Rogers, spent the race stuck in third, and apart from one small attempt at a pass into Sunset Bend, seemed happy to follow the Verstappen cars home and make sure of a podium.
With TC Esports also in their group, the other six teams had a big chance for points in the other races. It was BS+ Competition who would make best use of that, firstly by locking out the front row in qualifying, before Caique Oliveira would lead them home in a one-two.
After an uneventful race, Moritz Lohner injected the wrong kind of drama into the final stages for MOUZ, spinning through Collier and dropping down the field, reducing their points gap over Rennsport’s first and third community teams. But while Sebring was comparatively lacking in action, Monza, without the first chicane, would certainly make up for it.
