The ramp-up to Rennsport’s early access exit and console release continues, this time with another new GT3 car.

Ford will join the line-up with its Mustang GT3. Launched in 2023, it’s predominantly created by Multimatic, with a 5.4-litre V8 engine up front developed by British outfit M-Sport.

Making its competitive debut in 2024, examples are used in DTM, the IMSA SportsCar Championship, SRO’s GT World Challenge and the LMGT3 category of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

It joins the recently unveiled 2026-spec Porsche 911 GT3 R ‘evo’, Aston Martin Vantage Evo and teased McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.

While the ubiquitous GT3 race category isn’t the only type of race car in the game, it does appear to be the main focus of the recent additions. The model was teased via a social media post today, 18th August.

The driving sim title still doesn’t have a release date, despite being first playable at a 2022 event in Munich, but it’s still expected to launch later this year on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with cross-platform play and progression.
