Fresh content is on the way for free-to-enter sim racing platform RaceRoom Racing Experience in the form of the On The Edge Pack.

The paid-for downloadable content pack will see three real-world racing cars become available. It’s been several months since the last major addition to the KW Studios-developed title, which was in the form of the Drivers Pack.

KTM X-Bow GT2/GTX

This Audi-powered five-cylinder race car was created for the SRO-founded GT2 category and features a spectacular combined roof-and-windscreen canopy.

With gentlemen drivers primarily in mind, several compete in the GT2 European Series, although a series of epic stints at the 2022 24h Nürburgring showcased just how competitive it can be.

The KTM X-Bow GT2 joins the Audi R8 LMS GT2 and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport within the category.

McLaren 570S GT4

Set to be replaced soon by the Artura GT4, the general 570S GT4 is still used world-over as an entry-level race vehicle.

As per several of Woking’s finest, there’s a carbon fibre chassis, a 3.8 litre-twin-turbocharged V8 engine and a seven-speed gearbox.

It expands the GT4 roster available for RaceRoom, which KW Studios categorises as ‘GTR 4’, to eight. The 570S will sit alongside the likes of the BMW M4 GT4, Mercedes-AMG GT4, Lotus Evora GT4 and Audi R8 LMS GT4.

Now, all we need is a McLaren Ascher Racing steering wheel to go with it…

Mazda RT-24P

While the new LMDh rules are enforced within IMSA and WEC, here’s a chance to drive a former DPi regulation vehicle.

The Mazda RT-24P is an often-overlook racing prototype, which was used between 2017 and 2021. It never did manage to win the championship or the 24 Hours of Daytona, but it did finish on the podium.

Its carbon fibre monocoque was co-developed by Mazda Motorsports and Multimatic Motorsports and is powered by a 2-litre turbocharged engine.

RaceRoom is lacking contemporary prototype vehicles, its P1 and P2 categories are littered with either fictional vehicles or models from several years ago – so the Mazda is a welcome addition.

No pricing or firm release date for the On The Edge Pack have been revealed yet, but it is expected at the ‘beginning of April’.
