With $500,000 on the line, the wheels and cockpits used at this season’s EWC will be different compared to last year, including world debuts of new products.

It’s out with the old and in with the new, as the Esports World Cup sim racing competition will have new equipment providers for 2025.

Following a long-running partnership with VRS, the competition will instead use a combination of Playseat cockpits and Moza Racing wheels and pedals.

It’s a significant shift, and no doubt the competing drivers will be keen to use the new hardware at home in preparation for the 8th-11th July event in Saudi Arabia.

Playseat in particular is set to use the event as a showcase of a new cockpit.

“Without giving too much away, Playseat will be revealing a brand-new cockpit tailored for esports competition and we think it’s going to turn some heads,” said Robert Rossi, Marketing Director at Rennsport and Playseat alumnus.

“Together, we’re committed to advancing the standards of competitive sim racing and driving the future of virtual motorsport,” said Mandi Liu, Business Development and Partnerships Manager at MOZA Racing.

For those who watch the event live, a Twitch drop will provide a Moza Racing-themed livery to use within Rennsport.

Three teams – Porsche Motorsport, Team Redline BMW and Virtus.pro – have already made it to the final, while a remaining cohort will battle through last-change-qualifying (LCQ), group stages and playoffs to be in with a share of a gigantic $500,000 prize pool.
