REG Simulations has revealed the next circuit set to join its nascent sim PISTA Motorsport.
The Argentinian motorsport-themed racing game is currently in Early Access on Steam, containing four tracks, but has announced that the Autódromo Ciudad de Rafaela will be the next addition to its roster.
The track has been a going concern since 1953, and hosted the United States Auto Club’s Indy 300 in 1971, a race won by Al Unser. It was the largest international race to feature at the Santa Fe track, which has predominantly hosted regional and national events since.
The track has at least four layouts, including a full, 2.9-mile oval configuration and regularly hosts the Turismo Carretera – the oldest continuously active motorsport series in the world.
The championship is also showcased in PISTA, so you can emulate past champions like five-time Formula 1 World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio and former IndyCar racer – and committed sim racer – Agustin Canapino in-game.
Rather unusually, the track is owned by Atlético de Rafaela, an Argentinian Primera Nacional football club, adding to the very short list of worldwide football club/racing circuit crossovers (Cowdenbeath Racewall for the win!).
No details on Autódromo Ciudad de Rafaela’s release date have been revealed, but REG Simulations has assured fans it will be a free update alongside even more content and game modes.
