Nearly three weeks after its Steam Early Access release, Kunos Simualzioni has released a fix for Assetto Corsa EVO that unlocks its Driving Academy, Special Events, Car Customisation and in-game economy.
When the game dropped on the 16th of January, players were surprised to find that EVO required an always-online connection for its single-player systems to work, with quickfire patches helping players to drive the game’s limited roster of 20 cars and five tracks.
An online beta a week later allowed players a sneak peek at the missing modes and gave the Italian developer a chance to stress test its servers. However, a permanent fix took nearly two weeks to be resolved.
Online functionality has arrived alongside a few fixes for the sim, bringing EVO up to v0.1.5. Mercifully, the Honda S2000’s over-digitised audio has received some attention, with VR performance improved with regard to water spray.
The Driving Academy trick of starting licence tests on the fifth red light appears to have been resolved too, with cone collisions no longer affecting your performance. The full list of fixes can be found below.
Finally, if your game still states you are offline, head to the Settings menu, then Gameplay, and make sure you’ve selected Online.
