Currently in Early Access on PC, Old School Rally is heading to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch later this year alongside the full PC release.
Now, developer Frozen Lake Games and publisher Astrolabe Games have announced that the PS1-inspired rally racer will get a physical release on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on 4th December, 2025.
Releasing as a ‘special edition’, Old School Rally’s physical release will include a set of four art cards showcasing rally cars from the game. It will be published by Meridiem Games, which also released physical releases of Art of Rally and, more recently, Victory Heat Rally.

While Old School Rally will be released digitally on PlayStation 4, there are no plans for a physical release on Sony’s last-generation platform.
A release date for the digital version has yet to be announced. However, the Nintendo eShop lists Old School Rally with a 4th December release date, matching the physical release.
Old School Rally was previously set to release this “holiday season” on PC and consoles. A playable demo can also be downloaded on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

Old School Rally is a homage to PlayStation 1-era games, with blocky cars and stage designs reminiscent of Colin McRae Rally, along with split-screen multiplayer and a retro-inspired soundtrack. The final game is set to include over 30 cars and 22 stages.
None of the cars are officially licensed. Instead, they are inspired by real-world models from the golden era of rallying, including the Alpine A110, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII and Peugeot 205 Turbo 16.
However, a dispute over the ownership of specific car models led to the game being temporarily delisted on Steam in July due to a DMCA takedown. Since then, the issue has been resolved, with Old School Rally back on sale.
