A new car has been revealed ahead of its PISTA Motorsport release, with the Toyota Camry showcased by the Virtual Pilots Association of South America.
In an Instagram story, the Argentinian modding and sim racing team posted an image of the Toyota in a familiar white, black and red Gazoo Racing livery, with a caption reading ‘available very soon in PISTA Motorsport’, when translated into English. The image was then reposted by PISTA’s developer REG Simulations.
The Camry forms part of the 2024 Turismo Carretera touring car series, where silhouette racers from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Torino and Toyota battle it out across Argentina’s finest circuits.
The TC cars are all powered by 3.2l straight-six engines which sound absolutely glorious. All cars are strictly rear-wheel-drive and output just under 500 bhp, making them quick and very, very exciting to watch.
The 2024 season was controversially won in the final round by Julián Santero driving a Ford Mustang, his victory arriving after rival Mariano Werner’s car was apparently sabotaged.
2024 was the dawn of a new era for TC – the oldest continuous motorsport series in the world – with the outgoing ’70s-style cars giving way to more modern and relatable models.
According to PISTA’s development roadmap, we can expect to see four new cars and four new tracks in its next free update, so that could perhaps mean more TC cars are on the way.
Which other Argentinian-based cars and tracks would you like to see next in PISTA Motorsport? Let us know in the comments below.
