Simagic has officially entered the sim racing active pedal conversation with its own P-ACTIVE creation.
As announced during its pre-SimRacing Expo Frankfurt keynote, the Chinese firm is set to compete against the likes of Simucube and Moza with its own haptic feedback-producing system.
The pedal uses a compact 1:1 synchronous pulley and belt drive system that it claims delivers better and more reliable feedback, offering a smooth and quiet operation. The pedal can withstand a maximum pedal force of 180 Kg, with a structural load figure of 250 Kg, providing plenty of headroom.
Meanwhile, a custom servo motor allows speedy rebound, while the pedal can replicate all the effects you’d expect from an active pedal: gear shifts, clutch bite point, engine RPMs, lock-ups, ABS, wheel slip and traction control, all delivered within a 100ms response time.
The new pedal can be fitted to its own optional P-ACTIVE base plate, or fitted to Simagic’s existing P1000 or P2000 pedal plates, and will come boxed with P1000 and P2000 pedal adapters, plus a silicone pedal face cover. And as is the case with Simucube and Moza’s own examples, it will be possible to fit three P-ACTIVE pedals to one base plate.
