New Heusinkveld Sim Handbrake with SmartControl available now

Another new sim racing toy has arrived from the folks at Heusinkveld Engineering. A new Sim Handbrake powered by Heusinkveld SmartControl is available directly from the company or via third party resellers as of Wednesday.

Starting at €238.84 per the company’s website, the Sim Handbrake is a “highly adjustable, pressure sensitive USB handbrake using load cell technology.” The peripheral has a 120kg load cell which can result in up to 22kg of actual linear force.

Whether you plan to drift a hairpin on DiRT Rally 2.0, or if you’re preparing your racing rig for the upcoming WRC 10, the Heusinkveld Sim Handbrake might be the perfect companion for controlled drifting, precise stopping or intense rallying.

The addition of the SmartControl software allows for easy calibration of the Sim Handbrake. Features include setting a dead-zone, creating custom output curves and setting up multiple profiles for different racing programs or vehicles in the same sim.

The full list of specs can be found in the release or on the item’s store page. If you recently picked up Heusinkveld’s Sim Pedals Ultimate+ that we reported on two weeks ago, well now you’re just one steering apparatus and shifter arm away from a full driving experience.

Sure, Heusinkveld doesn’t have the most cost-effective equipment on the market, but the level of precision and detail that goes into these products is on a different level. I kind of want to give them a go. Anyway, if you plan on getting the handbrake, let us know what you think about it in the comments below.
