A second special livery design is on the way to the F1 22 game, with the ‘future mode’ look headed to the McLaren Racing entry.

It follows the Giallo Modena design earlier this month for the Ferrari team, and it too will replace the standard design for a limited period – starting on 11th October on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.

In the real world, McLaren has unveiled a new design for the Singapore and Japanese Grands Prix, and the virtual scheme mimics this.

The look of the MCL36 will now add elements of neon pink to the black and papaya shades alongside more obvious branding for a cryptocurrency exchange.

To tie in, the McLaren Shadow team will use the design during the second batch of F1 Esports Series Pro Races between 12th and 14th October – where its driver Lucas Blakeley currently heads the standings

The style will also form part of the third Podium Pass season, the title’s unlockable cosmetic item system. Season two included Lando Norris-themed trinkets, which ends on the 11th October.

“We’re thrilled to partner with McLaren Racing and offer another time-limited special livery,” said Paul Jeal, Senior Director of the F1 Franchise at Codemasters.

“We know how much our players love the one-off liveries and Future Mode will be no exception.”
