It’s all now starting to fit together, as all four cars for the next Gran Turismo 7 update have been revealed, alongside some fresh single-player content.
As we expected, the Chevrolet Corvette (C1) (in this instance a 1958 model year) and Maserati MC20 will be added to the roster, alongside the previously confirmed Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition and Toyota Ambulance Himedic.
Of note, both Toyota’s are not immediately available. The Ambulance is a prize car reward for watching the upcoming Gran Turismo World Series esports event from within the game and will be delivered on 21st August for those who view. It will then be part of the regular Brand Central dealership later in the month.
The Corolla, meanwhile, will be playable initially only via the practice for the next round of the Toyota GAZOO Racing GT Cup in-game, a competition open to all. It will then be available in the dealership at the end of September, but also distributed as a prize on 28th August for those who have taken part in a round of the competition.
The Chevrolet and Maserati, however, are simply set for availability when the update arrives, on Monday 7th August, two days before the Gran Turismo Movie launch.
To tie in with this momentous event, the livery used in the film will be available for the 2018-spec Nissan GT-R GT3 race car. This will be handed out for free between 7th August and 28th September, simply by hitting the Gran Turismo Movie banner at the top right of the main World Map hub.
There will also be three Extra Menus, which deliver in-game bonus payouts for owning certain vehicles. These will be themed around Maserati, Kei cars and Aston Martin. We’ll check out the completion requirements when the update lands.
Finally, for now, there will also be a curated selection of fire station photography scape locations. But of course. There doesn’t appear to be a new track, for now, however.
As ever, we’ll be back with the full changelog and a run-down of the most important features next week with the update arriving on PS4 and PS5 7th August 2023.
