- New Carmageddon game teased by Redout creator 34BigThings
- Full reveal set for 4th December at the PC Gaming Show
- Full name revealed as Carmageddon: Rogue Shift in SteamDB application history
- Described as a “combat-racing roguelite”
A new Carmageddon game is in development by 34BigThings, the Italian studio best known for the futuristic racing series Redout, with a full reveal set for 4th December.
A short teaser trailer with the tagline “Drivers Must Die” features an ominous race announcer saying: “Attention drivers. This is your one minute warning. I repeat. One minute to showtime. Those who are about to die, we salute you.” This is reminiscent of the announcer in the original Carmageddon’s intro cinematic.
Although the title is censored on the Steam page, the SteamDB application history via Gematsu confirms the new entry is called Carmageddon: Rogue Shift. According to the Steam page, the new game will be a “combat-racing roguelite.”
Presumably, it will focus on running over pedestrians and destroying competitors like the previous Carmageddon game. The addition of roguelite mechanics could bring procedurally generated tracks or permadeath, with an emphasis on surviving.
Car and character designs shown in the trailer suggest Carmageddon: Rogue Shift will have a futuristic setting. This would be fitting, considering the developer’s experience with Redout.
“A fan-favourite car combat franchise is back and more brutal than ever,” 34BigThings teased. “Think you’ve got what it takes to survive?”

The car combat series has been dormant since 2016’s Carmageddon: Max Damage. THQ Nordic acquired the rights to the franchise two years later, resulting in a Wreckfest crossover in 2021 featuring Max Damage’s Eagle R car and two tracks from the original Carmageddon.
A full reveal will take place during the PC Gaming on 4th December. Console releases are not yet confirmed, but its presence at the PC Gaming Show implies it will be PC-only initially.
