With all the noise surrounding the Need for Speed series’ mainline comeback, titled Need for Speed Unbound, the franchise’s mobile version has been forgotten about somewhat.

However, EA’s Need for Speed No Limits has just announced a new Halloween update which will be available to download and play on the 24th of October, and it’s set to add two cars to the iOS and Android racer.

2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series

At the time of its 2021 release, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series was the most powerful AMG (Mercedes’ on-house performance brand) car ever produced. With 730bhp and 800Nm of torque propelling the coupe up to 201mph, the Mercedes’ performance is closer to that of a GT3 race car than the standard AMG.

The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series will be available to win during the Doppelgänger Special Event, complete with an exclusively spooky livery.

2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C8)

Chevrolet’s move into the world of mid-engined supercars continues apace with the 2023 C8 Corvette. Released this year, the Z06 C8 is a step up from its 2020 predecessor in almost every department, featuring 670bhp and a ludicrously quick 0-60mph time of 2.6 seconds.

Naturally, GM’s flagship supercar has all the performance of a European supercar but at a much more realistic price point.

The Corvette will be available in the newest XRC event from the 30th of October.

You know something’s up when the sky is purple

As well as two new cars, players can also look forward to a Halloween theme to its Desert environment throughout the lifespan of the Doppelganger event. This means there are Area 51-inspired flying saucers and a lot of atmospheric green smoke. And I mean a lot.
