When it comes to new manufacturers of sim racing equipment, to take on the likes of Fanatec, Moza Racing,  and Thrustmaster (among others), Nacon did not spring to mind.

The game publisher, and owner of Kylotton game development studio currently creating Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and the upcoming Endurance Motorsport Series, has been working on a sim racing wheel and pedal set.

The French gaming giant isn’t only known for its games, but it also has a long-established hardware division. It currently produces a range of gamepads, fighting sticks and (RIG-branded) headsets.

A new ‘Revosim’ brand name has been created to be home to a new line-up of sim racing peripherals, with the ‘premium steering wheel’ as the first example.

It houses a direct drive motor, with an affixed ‘GT-style’ steering wheel and load cell-equipped pedals.

Perhaps uniquely, it can connect to a mobile app for customisation options. Nacon touts its market positioning as ‘premium’.

Pricing, release date and peak torque outputs are all unconfirmed at this date, with the Revosim product lineup “developed in the coming months”. Console compatibility is also unknown and even images of the device are shrowded in mystery.

    Nacon’s new racing division

The new Revosim brand is part of a new dedicated racing division, which will be headed by Sébastien Waxin. He has experience with the outfit’s racing games that stretches back to 2011.

“We are proud to be presenting, for the first time, the prototype of our first premium racing wheel,” said Waxin.

“Its development represents a natural step in the evolution of NACON’s expertise, epitomised by the new brand Revosim, which combines the company’s many years of experience in racing simulations with the flagship Revolution accessories brand.

“We are looking forward to revealing the technical details of the steering wheel in the coming months.”
