The Crew 2 is a game that continues to flourish, with Ubisoft Forward lifting the lid on another year of continued support and new content during E3 2021.
Ubisoft Ivory Tower’s open-world racing game, that first released in 2018 and features cars, motorcycles, planes and boats, seems to have garnered a large audience, with the game’s producer, Olivier Gueydon, announcing the series has now gathered over 30 million players across the original and sequel.
“For those who have not joined in yet, there’s no better time to jump into The Crew 2,” he explained during a new content reveal video.
To incentivise players, you can pick up the current Chevrolet Corvette C8 for just one Crew Credit (CC) from today until the 30th June 2021. Usually, a pack of 100,000 CC costs £7.99/$9.99, while 220,000 CC costs £15.99/$19.99 and cars can typically cost between 30,000 and 50,000 CC. There will also be a special in-game anniversary Live Summit running between 23rd and 29th June.
The Crew 2 is currently going through the Motorflix storyline, which introduced themed seasons to the game. So far there has been The Hunt, The Agency and The Game.
The next edition, Season 3 Episode 1, will be entitled ‘United States Speed Tour East’ and is focussed on circuit racing, with eight stages in total.
It looks to be a dramatic shift for the game, and in the teaser trailer, we can see several drivers wearing motorsport gear and some interesting vehicles, including a race-prepped Porsche 911 964 and some kind of futuristic fictional racing machine.
The current season still has some time left, but the USST will be available in-game starting 7th July. We look forward to finding out more details on the included vehicles and racing structure closer to its release.
