In another example of racing games merging with real motorsport, 2024 MotoGP champion Jorge Martín was recently seen wearing a custom helmet designed by a MotoGP 25 game fan in a competition.

Between 22 May 22 and 23 June, fans were invited to design and submit custom helmets using the helmet editor in MotoGP 25. Thousands of designs were submitted from over 50 countries, with Jorge Martín choosing the winning design.

“It’s amazing to wear a helmet created by my fans. It was so difficult to choose between all those amazing designs, but this is the one that surprised me the most,” said Jorge Martín. “The graphics and the colours perfectly represent my personality, it will look amazing on the track!

“I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to submit their design. I’m truly excited to be part of an initiative that brings riders closer to the fans watching frocam home.”

Created by a Brazilian player, the winning eye-catching design features the colours of the Spanish flag. Jorge Martín donned the eye-catching helmet at the Catalan GP at Barcelona, while MotoGP 25 players can use the custom helmet in-game.

MotoGP 25 launched on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in May, introducing Flat Track, Motard and Minibike disciplines alongside a new arcade physics option.

However, in our MotoGP 25 review, we felt the changes and new features were too inconsequential, resulting in an incremental annual release for a series that needs a refresh.
