This month sees the release of not one but two officially licensed motorcycle games from Milestone. After Monster Energy Supercross 25 launched last week, Milestone’s annual MotoGP series returns later this month with MotoGP 25.

Ahead of its launch, Milestone has released a new deep dive trailer highlighting MotoGP 25’s new game modes and improvements.

First look at Flat Track, Motard and Minibike training disciplines

New for MotoGP 25 is a ‘Race Off’ game mode where players can race in three training disciplines across career and single-player, each featuring unique handling characteristics.

These include the smaller Minibikes, faster Motard and off-road Flat Track motorcycles, with races taking place on four tracks across two environments. Real-world riders use these events to practice and sharpen their skills away from MotoGP race weekends.

The latter discipline was last seen in 2016’s Valentino Rossi: The Game with the Italian champion’s VR46 Motor Ranch facility, though MotoGP 25’s off-road circuits appear to be new. Gameplay of all three disciplines is shown for the first time in the deep dive trailer.

New Arcade and Pro modes

To ease newcomers in, MotoGP 25 introduces a new Arcade Experience game mode, with more approachable handling, extra grip to keep you on the track and no complex tuning. Milestone says this mode will provide “quick and accessible gameplay that still captures the essence of MotoGP” for less experienced players.

Conversely, Pro Experience features more realistic physics for more experienced players, with options to tweak the bike settings, tyre management, riding aids, electronics and fuel consumption.

Revised career mode

Elsewhere, the new deep dive showcases MotoGP 25’s revised career mode. Returning from last year’s game is a social media system where you interact with rivals, this time overhauled with a new HUD designed to “help players better understand the status of each competitor.”

An enhanced Bike Development System allows players to suggest changes to the team engineers in dedicated debriefs and post-race meetings. These updates can then be assessed in test sessions. It’s worth noting that engineers still gave feedback on setups in last year’s game as a menu option, but it’s now shown as a more natural on-screen conversation in MotoGP 25.

The Riders Market returns from last year’s game also returns, but an option to create your own fictional team still appears to be missing since last year’s game, sadly.

The Stewards race control from last year’s game is now updated to the current regulations and ranked multiplayer now includes full crossplay support for PC, PlayStation and Xbox – PC crossplay support was omitted in last year’s game. Crossplay support is still not supported for Nintendo Switch, however, but local split screen support returns from last year’s game.

Alongside the return of Argentina’s Termas de Río Hondo and the Czech Republic’s Brno Circuit, MotoGP 25 introduces Balaton Park, a new Hungarian circuit added to the 2025 championship calendar.

Audio is also said to be enhanced, with louder, more realistic-sounding bikes.

MotoGP 25 release date

MotoGP 25 launches on 30th April 2025 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
